Kyler Murray and Jalen Guyton had a usual day at the office as the duo shined once again against Marcus High School. Allen, DigitalSports’ top ranked team, routed out the Marauders 35-24 as Murray put up a five touchdown performance.
On the opening drive, Murray hit Guyton for a 52-yard touchdown. Following a fumble recovery, the Eagles got the ball back and, this time, Murray took it himself for an eight-yard rush into the endzone, putting Allen up 14-0.
Marcus was not going down without a fight. The Marauders marked 17 points before the end of the half to take a three-point halftime lead.
Allen struck back in the second half. The Eagles scored the sole touchdown of the third quarter and then added on another two scores in the fourth. On defense, Allen kept Marcus from gaining any momentum, limiting them to just one touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Murray finished the game having completed 11-of-18 passes for 218 yards and three touchdown passes. On the ground, the senior quarterback carried the ball seven times for 33 yards and two scores. Guyton was on the receiving of eight passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
After three consecutive games on the road, Allen finally returns to home turf on Saturday, October 4 to face Lewisville.
